College Essay Coaching
College Essay Coaching That Gets Results
One-on-one help for high school students who want to write a college essay that actually sounds like them.
The college essay is one of the few parts of your application that's entirely yours. No GPA, no test score, no list of activities. Just you, in your own words, trying to stand out in a pile of thousands of applications. That's a lot of pressure to put on 650 words.
Most students either freeze up and write something generic, or they try so hard to sound impressive that the essay stops sounding like them. Neither works. Admissions readers can tell the difference, and they're looking for something real.
That's where Inteleva Prep comes in.
What Our College Essay Coaching Includes
We work with students one-on-one to develop, draft, and refine their college essays. The process is straightforward: we talk, we dig into what actually makes you interesting, and we help you get that onto the page in a way that holds up.
Here's what you get:
Two 45-minute coaching sessions. One to brainstorm and find the right story, one to work through the draft together. Most students come in thinking they have nothing to write about. They're usually wrong.
3 to 4 rounds of revision. Detailed written feedback at each stage, not just copyediting, but the real questions: Is this the right topic? Does this opening grab a reader? Does the ending land? We'll be honest with you, because vague encouragement doesn't help anyone.
A final read-through. Before you hit submit, we go through everything one more time to make sure it's tight, true, and exactly what you want to put forward.
The whole college essay coaching package is $300. Most private college counselors and essay coaches charge three to ten times that for similar work.
One Thing We Won't Do
We won't write the essay for you. This isn't just an ethical thing (though it is that), it's also a practical one. Admissions officers read thousands of essays every year. They know what a student sounds like, and they know what a hired writer sounds like. An essay that doesn't match the rest of your application does more harm than good.
Our job is to help you write the best version of your own essay, in your own voice. That's it.
A Note for Parents
If you're the one researching college essay help for your student: we get it. The college process is stressful, the stakes feel high, and your kid is probably not as on top of it as you'd like them to be. We've seen that before.
What Inteleva Prep offers is structure and accountability. A real deadline, a real person giving real feedback, and a process that moves things forward. Students who work with us come out with an essay they actually feel good about submitting, not something they threw together at midnight before the deadline.
If you're looking for college essay coaching near Boston, or prefer a fully remote option, we work with students both locally and online.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does college essay coaching cost? Our college essay coaching package is $300 and includes two 45-minute sessions and 3 to 4 rounds of detailed revision feedback.
What's the difference between college essay coaching and college essay editing? Editing typically means someone cleans up your grammar and word choice. Coaching goes deeper; we help you find the right story, structure it well, and make sure the essay actually sounds like you. That's what moves the needle with admissions readers.
Do you work with students outside of Boston? Yes. We work with high school students remotely, so location is no barrier. If you're looking for college essay help online, we're a good fit.
When should my student start working on their college essay? Earlier than you think. Junior year spring is ideal for getting a head start. Most seniors need to have a strong draft by October for Early Decision and Early Action deadlines.
Will you write my essay for me? No, and you should be cautious about any service that offers to do that. Beyond the ethical issues, it tends to backfire. We help you write a better version of your own essay, in your own voice.
Is college essay coaching worth it? For most students, the essay is the one part of the application they have the most control over. Getting structured feedback from an experienced editor and writer can make a real difference, especially at schools where the applicant pool is competitive.
